2024 Boys Track/Field Season Preview
American Conference
Head Coach: Chris Radtke
Players to watch: Leonel Sesuraj (Senior, hurdler)– Andrew Snyder (Senior, pole vaulter, sprinter)– Nathan Eminian (Sophomore, distance)
Season outlook: We have a large team with quality returning athletes from the sophomore class through the senior class. The incoming freshmen have been impressive in workouts and I can’t wait to see what they will do once the season opens.
Head Coach: Conner Seeman
Players to watch: Xzavier Macon 100m, 200m, 4×100, 4×200– Robert Davis 4×100, 4×200, 4×400, Long Jump– Kenny Larry – Senior, 4×100, 4×200, 200m
Season outlook: Looking forward to a strong 2024 track season, have a strong senior core returning including the 4×100 and 4×200 teams that were league champs in those events. An additional senior that can make a splash in the 400m and relays this year is Kamran Walton. Looking for some underclassman like Terrean Bailey and Donte Swain to make a big presence this season as well.

Players to watch: Trevin Jordan – Senior – Throws– Dylan Wood – Senior – Distance– Tony Cox – Junior – Hurdles
Season outlook: Copley will be a young team that has shown a lot of growth and is excited to compete this spring.

Players to watch: Ty Sgambati (Jr.) – Distance– Matt Ciryak (Sr.) – Sprints/Jumps– Evan DiMalanta – Sprints/Pole Vault
Season outlook: HHS Boys have a strong core of returning letter-winners from the 2023 championship team. There are several newcomers that will bolster the 2024 team.
Head Coach: Billy D’Amico
Players to watch: Joab Bockstoce – Senior – Jumper & Sprinter– Anthony DeRubeis – Junior – Distance– Will Wells – Sophomore – Distance
Season outlook: Coming off our first 3rd place finish in the league in about 25+ years, we look to build on it and aim for a top 2 finish. Our distance and jump teams will lead us this season.
Head Coach: Andrew Murray
Players to watch: Micah Sheller, Senior, 300/110 Hurdles– Earl Frierson, Freshman, 100/200– Jaiden Portis, Sophomore, Long Jump/200
Season outlook: We have a very young team this year. We are excited to see some new faces contributing, and making improvements as we move through the season. We have a handful of young guys who should be able to contribute to the varsity program immediately, as well as a few returning athletes looking to fill the shoes of recent graduates.

Players to watch: Jared Newenhisen Sr.– Joey Naiman Sr.– Preston Shrock So.
Season outlook: Jared returning two time league champion in the 800. Jared also was a state qualifier in the 800. Joey returning regional qualifier in the 1600.
National Conference
Head Coach: Bob Schank
Players to watch: Michael Griesmer senior sprinter 100m, 200m relays– Jared Ryan junior sprinter 400m– Justin Habig thrower
Season outlook: We have some talented athletes and sprinters that qualified for the Regional Meet and we are working hard each day to get better and home to improve on last years accomplishments.
Head Coach: Mark McConnell
Players to watch: Reece Bacak, Senior, Sprinter, 200m– Ben Shabino, Senior, Throws, Discus– Noble Jones, Senior, Distance, 800m
Season outlook: Should be another good season for our team. Hoping for a top 3 finish in the league again and to see a lot of young guys step up into varsity roles this year.

Players to watch: Nicholas Piazza, Sophomore, sprints and long jump– Joey Calarco, Junior, sprints/hurdles– Harlen Williams, Junior, sprints/distance/high jump.
Season outlook: This is a younger team with some talented athletes in the sprints, distance and field events. Many newcomers who can contribute as the season progresses forward.

Players to watch: Eric Del Torto (11); sprinter/hurdler– Antonio Coleman (12); sprinter/hurdler– Donovan Smith (12); sprinter
Season outlook: We are excited to join the Suburban League. We are going to rely on our sprinters and develop our young distance runners and field event athletes.

Players to watch: Nathan Hartenburg – Distance– Desmond Boyd – Throws– Gino Hinton – Jumps/Hurdles
Season outlook: After a successful indoor season, Stow is poised to make some noise in the outdoor season. We’re excited to see the continued progress in the throws and jumps with a young distance squad already having success. The sprint group is very young with a lot of potential this outdoor season.

Season outlook: Our standout individuals lead an eager and developing squad. We have several newcomers that looks to make their marks this spring.
