2022 Girls Cross Country Season Preview

Head Coach:Laura Bell-Peters

Runners to watch: Barto, Grace (Sr)– Bucalo, Samantha (Fr)– Cicero, Isabella (Fr)

Season outlook: This is the smallest team we have had in almost 10 years. Graduated a large senior class with several top runners. There are 5 upperclassmen. They are a quiet group still figuring it out.

Runners to watch: Hannah Swanson (10th grade)– Celeste Shipka (10th grade)– Lily Tyler (10th grade)

Season outlook: This is the team I have been waiting for. This team is made up of girls that are passionate about running and their workouts prove their determination. I am excited to see what this group of young runners will do.

Runners to watch: Victoria McKnight, Senior– Hailey Himmelreich, Sophomore– Amelia Wagner, Senior

Season outlook: We return a 1st team all-suburban league honor, Victoria McKnight. We’re returning 3 of our top 5 runners. We will rely on a young core this season to make a difference.

Runners to watch: Kelsey Sheridan, Senior– Evelyn Boucher, Junior– Kylie Clark, Junior

Season outlook: Highland Girls are looking to improve on their 3rd place league finish last season. Senior Kelsey Sheridan looks to continue as a first team All-League performer from last year.

Runners to watch: Megan Diulus, 12th– Ellie Meech, 11th– Laura Wagner, 11th

Season outlook: This years team looks to relay on a great balance of standout running up front and great depth throughout our roster to compete at the highest level. Experienced veterans and excited newcomers should provide opportunities to challenge for a Suburban League Title and a deep run in the postseason.

Runners to watch: Jeanie Barzellato, Junior– Emma Arthur, Junior– Evie Caldwell, Sophomore

Season outlook: The Rough Riders have been training hard all Summer long. We are looking forward to the race season and plan to improve on last year’s performance.

Season outlook: Young group of girls look to repeat Regional Berth and fight for top 6 finish advancing to the State Meet.

Season outlook: Lost 3 seniors from our top 5. We have a big junior class to help fill the loss of the seniors.

Season outlook: The Hudson girls are hungry and ready seize every opportunity in front of them to get back to the state meet. A new era of Hudson cross country is here.

Season outlook: The girls have been working hard this summer. We are trying to improve Suburban League and District Meet finishes from last year.

Runners to watch: Jayla Atkinson (Jr)– Deena Ingrassia (Jr)– Sydney Pitcovich (Sr)

Season outlook: We have most of our top athletes from last year returning. Our goal is to qualify to the state meet as a team again this year. We also should be competing for the Suburban League championship.

Runners to watch: Sarah Miller (Sophomore)– Lauren McClung (Junior)– Abby Carroll (Senior)

Season outlook: Transfer student Abby Carroll will immediately help us up front. Our girls team looks a lot different this year but they have had a great summer and our biggest strength will be our pack.

Runners to watch: Kailyn Biecker, Junior– Rowan King, Sophomore– Cami Ross, Freshman

Season outlook: Strength and youth will be the theme. Kailyn Biecker is our top returneer from last year’s team and with her trips to the state meet over the past two seasons, she will be a key piece in guiding a young team this fall.
