2024 Volleyball Season Preview
American Conference
Head Coach: Katie Cicione
Players to watch: Emerson Spiesz, 11th grade, 29, L/DS– Aubrey Verdova, 10th grade, 12, OH/DS– Kaylie Liepins, 9th grade, 6, S
Season outlook: This season, we’re eager to build on our remarkable 2023 run. We have a young, hardworking, and versatile group this year, with our strengths lying in our grit and strong defensive play.

Players to watch: Carly Ondrus (2024, #24, MH)– Skylar Marble (2024, #19, All Around)– Haley Lorenzo (2024, #13, DS)
Season outlook: We have majority of the team returning, including 5 seniors who have a lot of knowledge and leadership. Numbers were great this year which allowed us to have the first freshman team in 12 years at Barberton. We look forward to improving our skills, team chemistry, and record from previous years.

Players to watch: Irelyn Bugaj, senior, #2, setter– Eva Kemper, senior, #7, libero– Maddy Richards, sophomore, #10, outside hitter
Season outlook: With this being my first season as head coach at Cuyahoga Falls, I am really looking forward to building with the talent we have. We have a lot of under classmen and a lot of great leaders with our upper classmen, so I am very much looking forward to a strong season from our girls.

Season outlook: We are looking forward to starting a new season. This is an exciting year- we have several players who can play multiple roles/positions. This offers our team a lot of versatility and options to utilize throughout the year. We look forward to another great year of Suburban League Volleyball!

Season outlook: Overall we are a young team. But we have incredible Senior leadership and strength in our front row.

Season outlook: We only lost two seniors and return a lot of players that earned varsity letters last year. If we play to our potential we think we can compete with everyone in the conference.
National Conference
Head Coach: Sydney McKay
Players to watch: Laynie Kraus, 25, 11, Setter– Jessie Zenir, 25, 2, OH– Sophia Venesile, 25, 5, Libero
Season outlook: We are looking forward to a season of growth and development as a program. We have some young talent, as well as 4 seniors. We intend to be quick and efficient as we increase our volleyball IQ.

Season outlook: Hudson’s new varsity coach, Coach Michael Maurer, knows the loss of school record holders Sydney Waller and Natalie Robinson will be a challenge. This team has many players who are ready to take on the opportunity. Players like seniors, Sophia Skidmore (Cleveland State commit) and Sofija Drobnjak who recently returned from Las Vegas nationals, and sophomore setter, Maribeth Slater who has put in a tremendous amount of work in the off season are ready to lead the Hudson Explorers volleyball team.

Season outlook: We have depth this year. Number 1 thru 12 all will play a role in the development of the team this year. Expectations are high across the board!

Season outlook: Our team is made up of a group of experienced upperclassmen who will be returning and very driven, talented younger players. It should be a great mix and we are hoping for an awesome, competitive season!

Season outlook: Looking to build on a very strong off-season and pre-season and carry into the regular season.

Season outlook: After graduating five impact players from last season’s roster, we expect to remain competitive within the Suburban League. Our team will be fairly young, at least in terms of varsity experience, but our athletes are eager to stay in the mix.
